Hi

How old are you and where do you live?  I have a few doctor interviews on the website here  http://www.kneesforyou.com/doctorinterviews/doctorinterviews.php

A lot depends on how old you are and the condition of your knees.  Sometimes you don't need a complete TKA, but only a very expeirneced orthopedic surgeon that does a lot of knees can tell you that.  Try to find a surgeon that does a large amount of knees since the outcome is usually better based on most medical studies.  If you use a local ortho that does a little of this and a little of that - the outcomes are sometimes not very good.  You need to ask your surgeon how many knees he/she does a month.  If they don't specialize in knees, you would be better off to find a surgoen that does.  Also ask your surgeon for the names of his/her patients you can talk with to see how well they did.  Be sure to ask questions.

Good Luck.

Pat
